The Land Rover is carefully dismantled with any parts to be re-used being laid aside to be cleaned up and used in reassembly.
Engine, gear box, axles and suspension parts are removed and cleaned.
Axles are reattached to the new chassis using new bushings and suspension components as necessary.
Engine and gear box are refitted with new mountings – this may be a good time to think about a new clutch or timing belt?
New brake lines are fitted throughout and the other reusable components fitted.
Many other new components, such as nuts and bolts, washers etc., are used during the reassembly of the Land Rover.
Other common things often required whilst the vehicle is stripped down include springs, shock absorbers and turrets, power steering box and pipes, fuel tank, brake overhaul, track rod ends, steering damper and exhaust system.
This list is not exhaustive; there may other items specific to your vehicle which may need to be replaced. We aim to communicate with you about particular items and costs throughout the rebuild so there are no unexpected or hidden costs. You may of course be lucky and not need any extras! |
